The National Urban League (NUL) hired Owen Consulting’s team of expert grant writers to help them apply for and win a $2.5 million, two-year grant from the US Small Business Administration (USSBA) to fund “The Community Navigator Pilot Program.” The pilot initiative enabled NUL to provide vital support and services to tens of thousands of black-owned small businesses nationwide. NUL brought in our evaluation team to assess the program in real time over the two years of the project, identifying key strengths, impacts, and areas for improvement. Our collaborative, mixed methods, and rigorous evaluation methodology and reporting enabled NUL to enhance service delivery and provide the USSBA with key recommendations for future iterations of the program.
